Temporary road closures and changed parking conditions in Brisbane for Labour Day March

Temporary road closures and changed parking conditions will occur on Monday 6 May 2024 for the Labour Day March.

Temporary road closures and changed traffic conditions will be in place in the Brisbane City, Fortitude Valley and Bowen Hills to safely facilitate the march.

The following roads will be subject to rolling closures from 6am to 12pm on Monday 6 May 2024:

  • Wharf Street, Brisbane City
  • Turbot Street, Brisbane City
  • Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley
  • Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley
  • St Pauls Terrace, Fortitude Valley 
  • Alexandria Street, Fortitude Valley

Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills from King Street to Brookes Street will be fully closed from 9am to 5pm on Monday 6 May 2024.

Parking conditions will temporarily change in the following closure zones to ‘No Standing Tow Away’ from Saturday 4 May at 4pm to Monday 6 May at 2pm:

  • Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley between Gipps Street and Brunswick Street
  • O’Connell Terrace, Bowen Hills between Bowen Bridge Road and Sneyd Street
  • Gregory Terrace, Bowen Hills between Brooke Street and King Street Both sides
  • Alexandria Street, Bowen Hills between Gregory terrace and St Pauls Terrace
  • Brookes Street, Bowen Hills between Gregory Terrace and O’Connell Terrace

Police, traffic control and signage will be on site to assist motorists and pedestrians through the area.

Diversion routes will be in place, with all detours and diversion clearly signed on the day.
