Join Voxalis Opera for a new staged production of Handel's first oratorio, The Triumph of Time and Truth, a mesmerizing exploration of the human psyche, presented at the iconic St. Andrew's Uniting Church, Brisbane CBD.
Enter an 1800s asylum where Time, Truth, and Pleasure battle for Beauty’s soul in Voxalis Opera’s haunting new production. Seduced by Pleasure into a world of indulgence, Beauty faces a harrowing psychological journey as Time and Truth challenge her to confront her deepest fears. As reality blurs, Beauty is forced to choose between the fleeting ecstasy of Pleasure and the ‘eternal wisdom’ of Truth and Time. A visceral, high-stakes odyssey unfolds, where every moment pulses with the tension between light and shadow, sanity and madness.
Experience Handel's masterful compositions at their finest in this oratorio, with the enchanting aria Lascia la spina as a standout, showcasing one of opera's most renowned melodies, now known as Lascia ch'io pianga from Rinaldo.
Immerse yourself in the timeless themes and exquisite music of this unique production.
