The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Heatwave Warning for Brisbane from Tuesday 21 January to Friday 24 January 2025.
Residents are advised to closely monitor those around them who are most at risk in extreme heat conditions such as children, the elderly and people with a chronic condition or illness.
Ensure your pets have shelter and plenty of water.
Close your windows and draw blinds, curtains or awnings early in the day to keep the heat out of your home.
If available, use fans or air-conditioners to keep cool.
Stay safe in warm weather by:
• Keeping out of the heat
• Drink water regularly
• Stay as cool as possible.
