Changed pedestrian and traffic conditions at Buranda busway station, Woolloongabba

Changed pedestrian and traffic conditions will be in place at Buranda busway station, Woolloongabba from Tuesday 23 July to late 2024 to facilitate the next stage of Brisbane Metro works.

Changes to footpath and station access include:

  • Temporary closure of the southern footpath on O'Keefe Street between Gillingham Street and the Pacific Motorway overpass. Access to the Veloway and Regent Street footpath will remain open. 
  • Pedestrian, cyclist and e-mobility diversions will be in place via the northern footpath.
  • Access to Buranda busway station will be maintained via the stairs on O'Keefe Street, as well as the stair and ramp access on Gillingham Street. 

Existing traffic changes on O’Keefe Street, Woolloongabba will remain in place, including:

  • Eastbound lane closures and traffic detours will be in place. There will be no through access on O’Keefe Street between Carl Street and Gillingham Street.
  • A single westbound lane will remain open on O’Keefe Street between Carl Street and Gillingham Street.
  • Left turn only will be in place from Carl Street to O'Keefe Street.
  • Left turn only will be in place from Gillingham Street to O'Keefe Street.

Police, traffic controllers and signage will be on site to assist motorists, buses and pedestrians.
