Council supports residents after severe storms

Brisbane City Council will be undertaking additional green bin collections in Carina Heights, Carina, Seven Hills and Camp Hill from Monday 20 January to Wednesday 22 January following recent severe weather in Brisbane’s eastern suburbs.

Residents in those suburbs can put their green bins out this week on their regular day of service.

Green waste can also be dropped off for free at Council’s Chandler Resource Recovery Centre until 27 January.

The Chandler Resource Recovery Centres is open between 6.30am-5.45pm at the following location:  

·                     728 Tilley Road (opposite the Sleeman Sports Complex).

Please note the following items will not be accepted as part of the free drop-off: 

·                     kitchen waste, including fruit and vegetable scraps  

·                     animal droppings  

·                     plastic, paper and glass recycling  

·                     general waste.

Residents who need assistance with storm affected properties should contact the SES on 132 500. 

Residents can report fallen trees outside their property boundary, or issues with storm water drains, to Council on 3403 8888. 

Make sure you stay away from fallen powerlines and report these immediately to Energex on 13 19 62.
