Planned Burn Mt Coot-tha Forest

A planned burn is scheduled to take place at Mt Coot-tha Forest between Sir Samuel Griffith Drive, the Powerful Owl Trail and the Pinnacle Trail on Tuesday 23 July, weather permitting.

The burn will start at approximately 10am and continue into the early evening.

Smoke may impact the Western Freeway M5 and settle in low lying areas in surrounding suburbs.

The Powerful Owl Trail and Pinnacle Trail will be closed during the burn and may be closed for up to two weeks following the burn for public safety.

Brisbane City Council staff will be on site for the duration to ensure the safety of the area.

Council planned burns are conducted in a manner sensitive to the welfare of wildlife in the area and are conducted only in suitable weather conditions.
