Link copied

Council has completed works at this Nundah intersection to improve safety for all road users.

We've upgraded the Melton Road and Nellie Street intersection. This has improved safety for all road users and enhanced connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists.

Works included:

  • installing 2 new pedestrian refuges on both sides of Nellie Street at the intersection to provide safe crossing points
  • realigning the kerb and constructing new pram ramps and sections of footpath on all 4 corners of the intersection
  • extending 'no stopping' lines and removing some informal on-street parking spaces to improve sightlines
  • installing additional 'stop' signs on both side of Nellie Street
  • installing new landscaping and line marking.

The Australian Government funded the upgrade as part of the Black Spot Program.

  • Oct 2024: Start of construction.
  • Jan 2025: End of construction.
