Wynnum Road and Southgate Avenue safety upgrade – Cannon Hill

Council upgraded the Wynnum Road and Southgate Avenue intersection to improve safety and intersection operation.

The project included:

• reconfiguring traffic signal phasing to provide a fully controlled right-turn from Wynnum Road into Southgate Avenue
• amending the lane alignment of east and westbound lanes on Wynnum Road
• reconstructing the traffic island to extend the right-turn pocket on Wynnum Road
• installing a new pedestrian crossing on the left slip lane into Southgate Avenue
• upgrading drainage and installing new kerb, signage and line marking.

This project was funded by the Australian Government as part of the Black Spot Program.
