What is an inspection of records search?

An inspection of records is a search that provides the current rates position and other information about a property.

You can request a search when a property is changing ownership or when researching a property.

An inspection of records search can include:

  • the current rates position 
  • resident parking permit information 
  • protected vegetation under the Natural Assets Local Law 2003 (NALL) 
  • flooding reports and information 
  • road acquisitions and study areas 
  • locality map 
  • plumbing and drainage information 
  • stormwater network information 
  • property notices and defects 
  • environmental health licences.

You can fast-track your application for an additional fee.

Before you start

To lodge a request, you'll need to provide:

  • the lot on plan number (located on the survey plan, title, or rate account)
  • credit card details, if lodging online
  • a cheque, if lodging by mail.

If you wish to lodge in person or by mail, download and complete a hard copy application form.

Fees

The fees for an inspection of records search are: 

  • $219.50 for standard response (12 business days) 
  • $366.40 for fast-track response (3 business days).
