Understanding plumbing fees and charges
Fees apply where Council regulates or is required to assess or inspect plumbing and drainage work. These fees apply to:
- plumbing and drainage applications and assessment
- inspection of plumbing and drainage work
- requesting copies of existing drainage plans or certificates
- annual backflow device fees.

Council offers plumbing and drainage fee discounts on eligible applications. These include certain virtual plumbing inspections and applications from qualifying organisations.
Paying plumbing and drainage fees
Most plumbing and drainage fees are paid during the lodgement of a permit application, or a request for assessment or inspection.
Where fees exceed $20,000, we’ll contact you for payment after you lodge your application.
We will begin assessment of your application after all fees have been paid.
