About Community and Environmental grants

These grants help to fund projects that benefit Brisbane's natural environment and sustainability.

They are available to groups and individuals who care for local habitat and wildlife.

Grants are also available to help non-profit organisations reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Community and Environmental grants

Community and Environmental grants provide funding to not-for-profit community groups and organisations. They support initiatives that address local or citywide environmental issues, and develop and maintain community gardens on Council land.

The program has 2 grant categories.

Category 1

This category is for specific environmental and community gardens on-ground projects and events.

The grant funds materials and services to be used directly for the nominated project.

Category 2 (not available for community gardens applicants)

This category supports operational and administration expenses of community groups.

These costs must be attributable to activities and community services performed by the group within the Brisbane LGA and have an environmental focus.
