‘Orangutan in Art’ is a fundraising art exhibition showcasing artists from across Australia. Its purpose is to raise awareness of the challenges faced by orangutans and their habitats, while also generating essential funds for the International Animal Rescue  Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre in Borneo, as well as for the vets supported by Orangutan Veterinary Aid - OVAID

  • When: 2-6 May 2025
  • Venue: Richard Randall Art Studio, Botanical Gardens at Mt Coot-tha in Brisbane
  • Open Times: 10am-4pm each day.
This exhibition will present a collection of artworks created by Australian artists, each paired with an orangutan currently in the centre's care, showcasing the unique personalities and quirks of these remarkable primates as seen through the artists' perspectives. Perhaps the most prized pieces of work comes from the Orangutans themselves as there will be two pieces of art painted by Maimunah resident artist at Melbourne Zoo. All art work will be available in our online shop. Coming soon! For more information, visit the OVAID website.
