What is the Pop-up Library?

The Pop-up Library brings the benefits of a library to community events, festivals and selected parks across the city.

This little van is packed with books to borrow, games to play, plenty of comfy seats and our knowledgeable library staff.

At the Pop-up Library, you can:

  • browse a curated library collection
  • borrow items to take home including children’s board books, picture books and select adult fiction and non-fiction titles
  • enjoy children’s storytime sessions.

Children’s storytime sessions

Children and their parents or carers can enjoy the Pop-up Library’s interactive storytime sessions as part of our children’s pre-literacy program.

The sessions aim to:

  • support early literacy development

  • offer a fun, educational and interactive way of learning rhymes and songs that you and your child can enjoy together.

These sessions include practical tips on how to support your child’s language and literacy skills.

Pop-up Library events

The Pop-up Library visits 7 parks across Brisbane on a fortnightly schedule. Check out where we'll pop up next!
