We're doing structural repairs at this youth club to improve the life of the building.

The Mitchelton Youth Club is undergoing structural repairs. We're delivering the project in 2 stages to minimise disruption for the club and its users.

Stage 1 works include:

  • restumping of the club building
  • construction of new accessible pathways to the main entrance and around the building
  • installation of new retaining walls and improved stormwater drainage.

Stage 2 works will include:

  • full roof replacement
  • construction of a new external staircase
  • internal structural repairs and improvements to bring areas to necessary facility standards
  • creation of additional storage space and a minor extension
  • refurbishment of the ground floor office.

We're jointly funding this project with the Queensland Government as part of the Community and Recreational Assets Recovery and Resilience Program (CRARRP) funding agreement.

  • Dec 2024: Project introduction.
  • Early January to early April 2025: Stage 1 works.
  • Mid-April to late August 2025: Stage 2 works.

We'll provide advance notification of works likely to impact users and the community throughout construction. We appreciate your patience while we undertake these important works.

A site compound and laydown area has been established next to the club to store materials and machinery during the works.
