The Brisbane songwriting institution was founded in 2005 as 8 Ball Aitken&rsquo;s TAFE assignment. &ldquo;I am amazed and so grateful of the support Mt Coot-tha Songwriters Festival has received for the past two decades. We have stayed true to our mission of promoting Brisbane blues and roots music talent, and we&rsquo;re blessed to still be making music together.&rdquo; The festival stage features six hours of non-stop original entertainment from fine Queensland blues, roots, folk, alt. country, and acoustic songwriters. The 2025 line-up features the soulful duo 8 Ball Aitken &amp; Taya Chani, bluesman Nathan Beretta, global touring folk songstress Lucy Gallant, spell binding singer-songwriter Clare Cowley, award winning Rae Leigh, and the enigmatic vocal presence of Phil Barlow. The musicians also get together for the all-star performer set to finish off the show. Bring a picnic or enjoy the food truck offerings.
