Once your application is ready, hit the ‘apply’ button and we’ll guide you through the process.
After the closing date of the advertisement, you’ll be informed by telephone or email of the status of your application.
Council will finalise shortlists after the closing date on the advertisement.
You’ll then get a call or an email from us to let you know about the status of your application.
This is an opportunity to ask questions and clarify details about the job. You’ll be able to provide more information about your experience and why you’ll be good for the role.
You may be invited to do the interview via phone, video call or in person.
How to prepare for the interview
Tips and tricks to prepare for questions during the interview stage:
- re-read the key accountabilities of the role
- reflect on how you meet the essential and desirable criteria for the position
- brainstorm examples of work or study situations where you applied relevant skills and abilities.
You can:
- use notes in the interview as prompts
- share relevant work you have done that demonstrates your skills and abilities.
If your interview is successful, Council will send you a letter to offer you the job.

Prepare your application
What to include:
- one-page cover letter:
- tell us about your capabilities, experience and how you meet the requirements of the role.
- resume (curriculum vitae) including:
- full name
- current contact details
- qualifications
- a concise description of your work experience including dates
- other relevant information.
- referees:
- you’ll need to nominate two recent referees for us to contact.
- we'll notify you before reaching out to your referees. Just make sure they know we’ll be contacting them.
- other documents:
- we may ask you to provide additional documentation depending on the position, such as a copy of your qualifications and work samples.
