Brisbane City Council's 2180 parks offer great free and fun outdoor activities to keep kids entertained. We've compiled a list of Brisbane's most awesome parks for active kids, from the suburbs to the city.

Bradbury Park, Kedron

Bradbury Park's modern equipment and futuristic design attracts families from all around the city. With plenty to do for all ages, it's easy to see why!

The designers created the playground space with older kids (around 10 to 15 years) in mind. The design includes hollow towers, by-ways, slides and bridges perfect for older children looking for adventure. Plus, there's also a basketball court nearby.

For younger children, there's a nature play space and scooter track.

The park also features a dog off-leash area to cater to furry family members.

Grinstead Park, Alderley

Another northside favourite, Grinstead Park in Alderley, has plenty to see and do for kids of all ages.

Bring a ball for a round of basketball with the kids, followed by a classic sausage sizzle lunch or dinner on the park barbecues.

The upgraded playground now has more features such as nature play trail and also improved accessibility. The playground's trampoline will have kids jumping for joy. Don't forget to pack their scooters and bikes to take a spin around the scooter track next to the playground.

Frew Park, Milton (previously Milton Tennis Centre)

Frew Park off Milton Road provides opportunities for adventure and hours of fun. Wendy Turnbull Green is a huge open greenspace for kids to run and play. The centrepiece of the park is 'The Arena' playground, combining architecture and play based around the old tennis grandstand. The playground includes a large climbing wall, huge slides, an elevated mesh climbing cage and so much more.

Whites Hill Reserve, Camp Hill

Harness your inner ninja warrior and get ready to challenge yourself with a visit Whites Hill Reserve in Camp Hill.

Whites Hill Reserve, one of four parks in Brisbane with a ninja obstacle course, lets you scale walls, rock hop, balance on planks, and more. It provides fun fitness for all ages!

For kids who still have energy to burn, check out the exploration playground, or take them on one of the many bushwalks nearby.

To refuel, enjoy lunch around a barbecue or at one of the several cafes nearby.

More ninja course challenges can be found at:

  • Guyatt Park in St Lucia
  • Teralba Park in Everton Hills

If your kids prefer bikes over walking, the BMX track will entertain them for hours with its moguls, banks, and bumps. For more BMX action, check out Kianawah Road Park  in Wynnum West. Look for free cycling events to add to your calendar on Council's website.

Need to slow it down? Make the most of the greenspace and enjoy a picnic.

Warril Parkland, Larapinta
