Chapel services

The memorial chapel is suitable for all types of funeral services and appropriate for people of all religions and ethnicity.

The chapel is open plan and provides a quiet, spacious area to commemorate loved ones.

There are TVs and audio-visual equipment for DVDs, music and still images. We recommend testing all media prior to the day of the service to ensure compatibility.

Locating graves and memorials

Locating lawn graves and ashes memorial sites is relatively easy at Hemmant Cemetery and Crematorium. The allotment number is marked on the bottom right of most plaques and they run in sequential order.

As the monument area is quite old, not all monuments are numbered. Numbering was introduced in the late 1900s.

Not all graves have plaques or headstones. Keep this in mind when trying to locate a specific grave by number.

Carry out a location search to help you find a grave or memorial. Have the person’s first or surname, age and date of birth and/or death on hand.

Visit the cemetery during office hours for assistance and directions.

You can also download the cemetery map to help locate a site. It shows the portions, roads and buildings in the cemetery grounds.
