Heritage features
City Hall has many focal points of cultural and heritage significance including Main Auditorium and Father Henry Willis Organ, World War II Signature Wall and clock tower.
Time capsule
A time capsule containing messages from 2012 was placed inside City Hall's Main Auditorium in April 2013. Between June and December 2012 over 300 photos and messages were shared for the time capsule. The Lord Mayor placed the time capsule inside the wall of the Main Auditorium on 2 April 2013.
The time capsule will be re-opened in 2059 to coincide with the 200 year anniversary of the declaration of the municipality of Brisbane.Thank you to everyone who helped us create a snapshot of what life was really like in 2012.
