About the hall
The community centre is a heritage-listed 3-storey building located in the heart of Wynnum.
Originally opened as a state school in 1896, the centre now offers 4 rooms for local community functions and events.
There’s plenty of space, equipment and facilities to suit all event types, from art exhibitions to community or work activities.
The ground level provides access to the building, car park and upper levels. You’ll find a meeting room with a kitchenette on the second level. A gallery space and 2 well-equipped halls are on the upper level. There are toilets, stairs and elevator access on every level.

Bond
You may need to pay a security bond on top of the hiring fee.
Your bond will be refunded within 10 business days from the last day of your hire period, unless it is applied by Council. See the hire conditions for more information.
Bonds are based on the risk level:
- Low or medium risk: Applies to events with no alcohol. Risk level also depends on the number of people attending and the time of day the event is taking place.
- High risk: Applies to events in the evening, with security guards and events involving alcohol. This includes birthday parties, engagement celebrations and wedding receptions.

Hire conditions
Parties and similar events are allowed between 5pm–midnight on Friday and 2pm–midnight on Saturday.
Bookings must be made at least 5 working days before the hall is required.
