Heated pool

Council is bringing back the popular $2 Summer Dips initiative from December to February to encourage residents to enjoy Council pools for less this summer.

Parkinson Aquatic Centre located at 751 Algester Road, Parkinson and features a 50 metre outdoor, heated pool and an indoor heated programs pool.

Ramp access available to both pools.

Upcoming pool closures

The 50m pool will be closed to the public on the following dates:

Monday 3 February, 8.30am-3pm - The pool will be reopened for public use from 3-8pm.
Friday 7 February, 8.30am-3pm - The pool will be reopened for public use from 3-8pm.
Tuesday 11 February, 8.30am-3pm - The pool will be reopened for public use from 3-8pm.
Wednesday 12 February, 8.30am-3pm - The pool will be reopened for public use from 3-8pm.
Sunday 16 February, 8am-3pm - The pool will be reopened for public use from 3-6pm.
Wednesday 26 February, 8am-3pm - The pool will be reopened for public use from 3-8pm.

A person must be 14 years old to use the Health Club. People under 16 years of age must still be accompanied by a supervising person 18 years of age or older.

Conditions of entry

Children 10 years of age or younger must be accompanied by a supervising person 18 years of age or older. Parents with children five years and under must be in the water with their child within arm's reach at all times.

Concession means the holder of a Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink or a Gold Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs.

All Council pools now honour the Queensland Government Companion Card, allowing free entry for anyone accompanying a person with disability who requires attendant care support.

Keep watch @ public pools

When by the pool with your kids Keep watch @ public pools recommends:

for zero-five year olds and non-swimmers, a parent or guardian must be in the water at all times within arms' reach of the child/non-swimmer
for six-10 year olds, constant active supervision is required by a parent or guardian. Be prepared to get wet and enter the water with this age group
for 11-14 year olds, parents or guardians must physically check on children on a regular basis.
