Bin replacement, repair or collection
Report bin problems such as missed bin collection, bin repairs, bin replacement and stolen or abandoned bins.

Report a missed bin collection
Your bin collection may have been missed if your bin:
- exceeded the 70 kilogram weight limit and was too heavy for the collection truck to lift and empty
- was obstructed at the time of collection
- was taken out after the collection truck had already serviced your address.
Ask us to replace or fix a bin
You can arrange for Council to repair or replace your damaged bin for free. We don't recommend making any repairs to your own wheelie bin.
You can ask us to fix or replace your bin if:
- it's missing a wheel or lid
- the lid or body is cracked
- the lid has come loose (either partially or completely).
In-home bin service repair
You can ask us to repair or replace your bin within your property if:
- you are a person with disability
- you have a physical or mobility impairment
- no able-bodied person lives at your address.
You can apply for in-home bin service repair by calling us on 07 3403 8888.
Report an abandoned bin
If you have found an abandoned bin, you can report it to us. We'll pick it up as soon as possible.
Report a bin that's been left out
If you notice a bin that has been left out on the footpath, kerb, street, or road, you can report it for us to remove.
If you know who the bin belongs to, try to speak to them first. You can download a letterbox-drop template to print, fill out and place in their letterbox.
To lodge a complaint about a bin left out, phone Council on 07 3403 8888.
