Infrastructure planning policy
Brisbane City Council is committed to improving quality of life for residents while ensuring our city has the services and infrastructure to meet the needs of future generations
Each year Council invests significantly to support new and existing development in Brisbane with new and upgraded infrastructure. Council also levies infrastructure charges on new projects as part of the development assessment process, which contribute to the provision of trunk infrastructure such as roads, pathways parks and stormwater infrastructure.
It is important to make sure that as our city grows it changes in a way that maintains our high standard of infrastructure while providing value for money. Brisbane City Plan 2014 (City Plan) sets out policies to ensure that our city’s urban development is supported by infrastructure that is planned and delivered in a coordinated, efficient and financially sustainable manner.
