Important things to know

  • You need to touch on and off with your Seniors go card or Seniors Card + go to receive free off-peak travel.
  • If you forget to touch on or off, you will be charged a fixed fare at the end of your trip. Applications to have a fixed fare adjusted can be made by logging into Translink online or phone 13 12 30.
  • If you travel on a combination of Council and non-Council services during the eligible off-peak hours, the free off-peak travel benefit will only apply from the time you tap on/off a Brisbane City Council bus, CityCat or ferry service. You will be charged normal concession fares for the remaining portion of your journey.
  • If your journey crosses between peak and off-peak times, your go card will be charged based on the time you tapped on.
  • If you touch on or transfer during peak time, the peak fare will be charged to your go card for that trip or leg of the journey.
  • If you touch on or transfer during off-peak time, the off-peak fare ($0 during eligible hours) will be charged to your go card for that trip or leg of the journey.
