Play a round at one of Council’s 2 public golf courses.

St Lucia Golf Links is a 15-minute drive from Brisbane’s CBD. It has many facilities, including a golf simulator, and has hosted Queensland Open and Professional Golfers Association (PGA) tournaments.

Minnippi Golf Course is the only public golf course on Brisbane’s southside. Covering 125 hectares, it features an 18-hole green and driving range and neighbours Minnippi Parklands

St Lucia Golf Club

St Lucia Golf Links is one of Brisbane’s oldest golf courses.

It’s home to an 18-hole course, mini putt-putt and Hillstone, a historic clubhouse with a restaurant, golf shop and event spaces.

Head to the course to take a coaching lesson, visit the simulator or play a round of golf, regardless of your skill level.

Visiting the golf club

St Lucia Golf Links is located on the corner of Indooroopilly Road and Carawa Street, St Lucia.

You can plan your bus or train route with Translink.

Access the free onsite car park from Carawa Street.  

The closest train station is Indooroopilly Station.

St Lucia Golf Links is open 6am–6pm daily, except Christmas Day.

Other facilities at the golf club, such as the putt-putt course, have different opening hours.

No membership fees apply to playing at St Lucia Golf Links. There are fees to play on the green and hire golf equipment.

You can book to play 9 or 18 holes up to 14 days in advance. Walk-ins are welcome, subject to availability.

Split across 5 levels, the rustic and homely restaurant offers breathtaking views of the golf course and surrounding parkland.

Hundred Acre is open for lunch and dinner, Wednesday to Sunday.

The bakery sells coffee, wraps, sandwiches and pastries, 7 days a week. 

Hundred Acre is closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Disc golf

What is disc golf?

Disc golf is played similarly to traditional golf, but with plastic discs and target baskets. The aim is to reach the targets in as few throws as possible.

It’s a cheap, fun and low-impact sport anyone can play, regardless of age or ability.

Work on your throw, get some outdoor exercise and spend time amongst nature with a game of disc golf.

Council has 2 disc golf courses in parks across Brisbane:

  • an 18-basket course in Cadogan Street Park, Carindale
  • a 12-basket course in Freney Street Park (located in Kookaburra Park), Rocklea.

Getting started

All you need to start playing is a plastic disc, like a frisbee.

At the start of each course, there are instructions and a map showing where each of the baskets is located.

Throw your disc from the concrete tee into the target baskets in as few throws as possible.

No, you don’t need to be a member of St Lucia Golf Club to play there. This means there are no membership costs, only fees to play on the green and hire equipment.

Anyone can tee off on the user-friendly public golf course, from beginners to professionals.

You also don’t need to be a member to use the facilities. When visiting, you can:

  • play 9 or 18 holes on the scenic championship course 
  • take advantage of the golf cart esky service
  • visit the golf shop, simulator or mini putt-putt course
