Fascinated by plants
11:00am to 12:30pm
Suitable for all ages.

An understanding of plants is essential for sustainable production of the products we need, and for promoting healthy ecosystems. Today, we celebrate the diversity of plants in colour, shape, and function, their roles in our lives, and their importance for other life forms. Walk with our Guides through deserts, fern gardens, rainforests and savannahs. Discover some of the myriad plant adaptations, and learn of their benefits to life on Earth -food, beauty, medicines, shelter, and the very air we breathe.
International Fascination of Plants Day offers unique opportunities to explore, learn, and be inspired by the fascinating realm of plants. This is an initiative of the European Plant Science Organisation (EPSO).
Requirements: This walk requires average physical activity, including walking distances up to 500m, possibly some uneven ground but mainly paved paths. Stops are short and mainly for guide explanations. Some short standing periods or sitting if required.
Please wear a hat, enclosed walking shoes, and be sure to bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
Meet at the Visitor Information Centre.
Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
