Free green waste drop off closing on Sunday

To assist residents in the clean-up from Tropical Cyclone Alfred, free green waste disposal is currently available at 4 resource recovery centres until Sunday 23 March. 

The resource recovery centres are open from 6.30am to 5.45pm every day, located at:  

  • Chandler - 728 Tilley Road 
  • Ferny Grove - 101 Upper Kedron Road 
  • Nudgee - 1372 Nudgee Road 
  • Willawong - 360 Sherbrooke Road.

Opening hours at the resource recovery centres will be extended to 8.45pm for the weekend 22-23 March. 

Residents are asked to be patient when visiting a resource recovery centre as extended wait times may occur. 

Council has also opened 7 temporary green waste drop-off sites, which are available to residents 7am to 5pm daily. The following locations will be open until Sunday 23 March:

  • Bill Brown Sports Reserve, Telegraph Road, Bracken Ridge    
  • Pinnaroo Cemetery, Graham Road, Bridgeman Downs      
  • Karawatha Forest, 149 Acacia Road, Karawatha   
  • Mortimer Road Park, Acacia Ridge                      
  • Sleeman Sports Complex Carpark 1, Chandler
  • Whites Hill Reserve, off Boundary Road, Camp Hill 
  • Mt Coot-tha carpark, Sir Samuel Griffith Drive

All temporary food waste bin sites are progressively closing over the next few days.
