Kerbside collection suspended due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred

Kerbside large item collection has been suspended until further notice due to the significant risk of Tropical Cyclone Alfred. 

Residents should not place items on the kerb. 

Any items on the kerb should be brought in and secured as soon as possible in the following suburbs where collection was scheduled from Monday 10 March.

  • Belmont 

  • Chandler 

  • Gumdale 

  • Manly 

  • Ransome 

  • Wynnum West 

 Council will fast-track collection in the following suburbs, however collection cannot be guaranteed as conditions worsen. 

  • Hawthorne 

  • Hemmant 

  • Lota 

  • Wynnum 

  • Lytton  

Free green waste drop off is now available at all 4 Resource Recovery Centres (RRC) at Willawong, Chandler, Ferny Grove and Nudgee.  

The RRCs are open from 6.30am to 8.45pm every day, located at:  

  • Willawong - 360 Sherbrooke Road 

  • Chandler - 728 Tilley Road 

  • Ferny Grove - 101 Upper Kedron Road 

  • Nudgee - 1372 Nudgee Road
