A planned burn is scheduled to take place in the Karawatha Forest West between the Gateway Motorway, Yorkshire Place and Kardella Street on Saturday 3 August, weather permitting.
The burn will start at approximately 10am and continue into the evening.
Smoke may impact the Gateway Motorway and local residences and settle in surrounding suburbs overnight.
Tracks in the area will be closed during the burn and may be closed for up to two weeks following the burn.
Brisbane City Council staff will be on site for the duration to ensure the safety of the area.
Council planned burns are conducted in a manner sensitive to the welfare of wildlife in the area and are conducted only in suitable weather conditions.
