A planned burn is scheduled to take place in Mt Coot-tha Forest between Sir Samuel Griffith Drive and Chapel Hill Road, and between the Chapel Hill Road Trail and the Lookout Trail on Wednesday 31 July, weather permitting.
The burn will start at approximately 10am Wednesday 31 July and continue into Thursday afternoon, 1 August.
Smoke may impact local residences and settle in Kenmore, Bardon, Toowong, Indooroopilly, Chapel Hill and surrounding areas overnight.
The Chapel Hill Road Trail, Lookout Trail and Golden Orb Track will be closed during the burn and may be closed for up to two weeks following the burn.
Brisbane City Council staff will be on site for the duration to ensure the safety of the area.
Council planned burns are conducted in a manner sensitive to the welfare of wildlife in the area and are conducted only in suitable weather conditions.
