A rainforest ecosystem in the city - Special walk - City Botanic Gardens
10:00am to 11:30am
Suitable for all ages
Free
Over the nearly 20 hectares of the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens, there are about 2500 trees primarily from tropical and subtropical climes from around the world. In this special haven within a thriving modern city, a unique rainforest ecosystem has been developed to showcase the wonders of such a fragile environment that is gradually disappearing in our world. This walk will inspire and uplift as you experience a tropical landscape within an urban setting.
Requirements: This walk requires average physical activity, including walking distances up to 500m, possibly some uneven ground but mainly paved paths. Stops are short and mainly for guide explanations. Some short standing periods or sitting if required. Please wear a hat, enclosed walking shoes, and be sure to bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
Meeting point: Meet at the Visitor Information Kiosk (next to the Queensland University of Technology's Main Drive pathway).
Note: Walks may be subject to environmental conditions and guide capacity on the day.
Bookings
Bookings required via Eventbrite.
Please note: Ticketing for this event will close at 12pm on Monday 17 February 2025.
