Native plants guided walk

Go wild and discover some interesting Australian native plants at Downfall Creek Bushland Centre and surrounds. Join environment centre staff on a short, gentle guided walk showcasing some interesting and versatile local native plants and learn about some plants that might be suitable for your wildlife-friendly backyard or balcony. Please note collecting plants is not permitted in this protected conservation reserve.

Downfall Creek Bushland Centre is a collection point for Brisbane City Council’s Free Native Plants program.

Check your eligibility and requirements online, and bring along your paid rates notice or written authority from the current financial year to collect 2 free native plants.

Requirements: Children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. Arrive 10 minutes early to check in. Wear sun-safe clothing, fully enclosed shoes, sunscreen, and bring insect repellent. 

Note: This event will go ahead in light rain and can be adapted for indoors if required. Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
