Environment centre staff will guide you through some fun, simple exercises at this introductory session. Nature journaling is an easy, relaxing practice and encourages mindfulness, hones observation skills, and cultivates a sense of wonder. Close observation and recording of the natural world can be a wonderful form of meditative expression, and provides an opportunity for stillness, reflection, and mindful connection with nature. All materials provided, but we recommend you bring your own basic sketch/art book so you can keep your creations in one place. Limited seating available. Please bring an outdoor chair if you need one. After the workshop, visit the environment centre or remain in the reserve to continue working on your nature journal. Requirements: Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in. Wear sun-safe clothing, sunscreen, fully enclosed shoes, and bring insect repellent. Bring water and a snack as there are no food outlets on site. Note: This activity will go ahead in light rain and can be delivered indoors if required.
