Plants, Flavours and Food
10:00am to 11:30am
Suitable for all ages.
Free
Plants produce various aromatic compounds, essential for interacting with pollinators and herbivores, while also stimulating our senses of taste and smell.
On this walk, we’ll explore plants responsible for popular flavours like vanilla, coffee, and chocolate. We’ll discuss the journey from plant to industrial product and how these goods reach consumers. A portion of the walk will be spent in the Kitchen Garden, where we’ll uncover interesting details about fruits and vegetables.
This experience offers a deeper understanding of the plants that influence our everyday flavours and food products.
