Come along and join Phil Judd, the Illustrator for Scholastic’s new children’s book by well-known children’s author Andy Jones, the “Massive Book of Jokes for Kids Only!” In this workshop Phil will talk about his experience working as an Illustrator, the process involved and his approach to creating the images for the book. Phil will cover how to create image ideas for jokes with the group. He will also give simple drawing tips on creating your own images for a joke, or any idea! This activity will include time for the children to draw up their own ideas for some jokes in the book. Alternatively, they can bring their own jokes to illustrate. They will then ink-in their drawing, creating a professional looking image, just like Phil did for the Joke Book. Ideal for children aged 7-14 years.Readers of all ages and interests are invited to join the challenge with Brisbane City Council libraries' Summer Reading program. It's free to participate!
