BrisAsia 2025
BrisAsia Festival returns from Friday 31 January to Sunday 9 February 2025 to celebrate Lunar New Year and the transformative energy of the Year of the Snake.
Symbolising wisdom, rebirth and new beginnings, this festival will ignite your imagination with an extraordinary fusion of tradition and modern creativity.
Brisbane will come to life with more than 25 activities and events over 10 spectacular days filled with unmissable street performances, awe-inspiring contemporary art, K-Pop showcases, street cars, live music and dazzling displays of traditional and contemporary dance.
This year’s world class festival brings together artists, producers and creatives whose work celebrates the unique cultural experiences of our city. Whether you’re a fan of high-energy performances or serene artistic beauty, BrisAsia Festival 2025 has something for everyone.
- Kicking off with entertainment for the whole family is Southside By Night on Friday 31 January. Street, luxury and performance cars, hip-hop and DJ performances by local artists, street food and entertainment.
- Enjoy performances, street theatre, breakdancing and cosplay at Lush on Fish Lane on Saturday 1 February. Taste delicious Asian cuisine from top local vendors Southside Restaurant, Hello Please, Chu the Phat, and Bird’s Nest.
- Bring a picnic blanket and settle in for an afternoon of flavour and festivity at Lunar New Year in the Gardens on Sunday 2 February. There will be excitement for all with lion dancers, martial arts display, live music, traditional dance, Henna face painting and more.
- Kpop until you drop! Grab your glow sticks and bring your fan chants for the Asia Pop Showcase: Hanmaum Kpop at the Thomas Dixon Centre on Saturday 8 February.
- Explore vibrant dishes at Longwang Restaurant with Head Chef Andy Choi's, A Weekend in Soul. Taste fresh, locally sourced produce infused with traditional Korean spices, fermented flavours, and modern twists. Friday 7 to Sunday 9 February.
- Hear the ancient sounds of Japan come to life in the unique art show Liquid Memory on Sunday 9 February. Visual artist Yao Mikami and vocalist Mico Sundari unite sound and visuals, slowing down time and encouraging deep reflection.

Festival producers
Sounds Across Oceans (SAO) is a not-for-profit arts organisation dedicated to promoting community harmony and wellbeing through innovative cultural programming across styles, genres and artforms.
Inspired both by ancient and contemporary values the organisation works with diverse communities to generate creative platforms where people from all walks of life can reach their creative potential.
Through workshops, residencies, concerts, education programs and discussion forums, SAO builds bridges between cultures and communities, supports cultural knowledge sharing and uplifts and connects people from diverse cultural and creative backgrounds
The SAO team of producers for BrisAsia 2025 include Minh Nguyen, Lani Gibbins and Loic Robillot. BrisAsia Festival 2025 program partners include the Museum of Brisbane, Fish Lane Arts Precinct, Big Fork Theatre and Shoku.
