Rates paper bill fee

Brisbane City Council is introducing a fee for quarterly paper rate notices. This will be introduced from:

  • 1 December 2024 for commercial notices
  • 1 January 2025 for residential notices.

Over 40% of Brisbane ratepayers have already made the switch to digital billing. This $1.98 GST inclusive fee is being implemented to cover the additional costs involved when issuing physical rate notices.

This fee will appear on page 3 on the rate notice, under the Account Details section.

Avoid the charge and make the switch to paperless billings and receive your rate notice by email to keep our city liveable and sustainable. By opting to receive free SMS reminders, you won't forget when your bill is due.
