Waste Smart Kindy
Suitable for: Kindergartens and early learning centres
The program encourages early learning centres or services to make changes to increase resource recovery and decrease the amount of waste being sent to landfill.
Towards Zero Waste Education Centre
Suitable for: primary and secondary schools (Years 4 to 12)
Schools can book visits to the Towards Zero Waste Centre at Brisbane Landfill in Rochedale to see where waste goes after it is collected and to learn more about recycling.
Tangalooma EcoMarines
Suitable for: primary and secondary schools
Council sponsors Tangalooma EcoMarines to support Brisbane schools and inspire and empower students to create change. This program is open to both primary and high schools.
School classroom program (environment centres) - waste
Suitable for: prep to year 6
Council's environment centres offer two classroom sessions to teach lower and upper primary school students about waste minimisation and management to facilitate behaviour change.
