Timetables and tickets
Brisbane City Council operates one of the largest bus fleets in Australia, along with Brisbane Metro, the CityCat and ferry network.
Timetables
Timetables are available for download on the Translink website and are also displayed at ferry terminals.
Tickets
To reduce cash handling, services in South East Queensland are pre-paid only.
This means you will need to use a go card or pay for a paper ticket at a station fare machine as you cannot purchase a ticket or top up a go card on-board.
All public transport fares on Brisbane City Council bus, Metro, CityCat and ferry services are 50 cents per journey.
From 24 March 2025, Smart Ticketing will commence on Brisbane City Council bus services, providing customers with new ways to pay using their contactless Visa, Mastercard or American Express credit or debit card or any smart device linked to your card.
Smart Ticketing commenced on CityCat and ferry services on 16 April 2024.
Visit the Translink website for more information on ticketing and fares.
