Sara's residency will harness the mandala as a motif to explore themes of identity and belonging. Mandalas have a rich history in Persian art and architecture. Sara is drawn to the significance of these symbols in her own life, but also their resonance across other cultures and spiritualities. During her residency, she will engage with various Brisbane communities to create a series of collaborative mandalas. Over several months, these works will be added to the MoB entrance as an evolving installation. Sara's project celebrates the beauty of our multicultural city, encouraging us to stand together in our differences. MoB's Artist in Residence program is supported by Tim Fairfax AC.
