Community conservation

Brisbane is a subtropical city with an extensive network of waterways, wetlands, parks and reserves. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in community conservation in Brisbane to help keep our city clean, green and sustainable.

Brisbane City Council's Community Conservation Partnerships program (CCPP) works with over 8000 community members to protect, restore, enhance and celebrate our natural environment.The CCPP also hosts training, education, tours and events for active volunteers and partners. 

Community conservation opportunities

The Habitat Brisbane program works with community bushcare groups to protect and enhance habitat in bushland, parks, wetlands and waterways across Brisbane.

Council's Creek Catchments program works with community catchment groups to protect and restore Brisbane catchments.

Landholders who join Council's Wildlife Conservation Partnership program receive help and advice on revegetation, local flora and fauna species and how to conserve and restore wildlife habitat on their land.

Brisbane has three environment centres at Boondall Wetlands, Downfall Creek and Karawatha Forest. Share your passion for the environment by volunteering at one of these centres.
