Growing a greener Brisbane
Brisbane City Council is creating a greener Brisbane by beautifying our suburbs so you can enjoy our beautiful climate while connecting with the people and places that make our city even better.
We’re protecting and expanding greenspace to make it easier for you to enjoy the lifestyle our great city has to offer. Delivering a clean and green Brisbane means beautiful suburbs for generations to come. Council is greening the suburbs by planting and maintaining more trees for residents and our iconic wildlife.
As part of greening Brisbane suburbs, Council is turning local streets into shady tree-lined boulevards by planting more than 13,000 trees along residential footpaths each year while bringing people together through community planting activities. This work will also include beautifying busy traffic corridors with more planting in street verges and median strips while improving the amenity of local shopping precincts with more landscaping.
