About the project
The Nudgee Beach viewing deck is located along the Nudgee Beach boardwalk loop, which is approximately 1.5 km long. The viewing deck section has deteriorated significantly and for safety, has been closed to the public until further notice.
While the viewing platform is closed and the loop cannot be completed, the remaining boardwalk on either side of the viewing platform is safe and open for public use.
Ongoing investigations
We are investigating potential options to repair the Nudgee Beach boardwalk around the viewing deck.
We will be conducting intermittent investigation works on the boardwalk and around the area in mid-2024.
These investigations will assess a number of factors including the existing condition, the piles, environment and surface condition around the boardwalk. This important information will help our team progress a design for the future repair of the boardwalk.
