About the project
The Nudgee Beach viewing platform is located along the Nudgee Beach boardwalk loop, which is approximately 1.5 km long. The viewing platform has deteriorated significantly and for safety, has been closed to the public until further notice.
While the viewing platform is closed and the loop cannot be completed, the remaining boardwalk on either side of the viewing platform is safe and open for public use.
Ongoing investigations
We are investigating potential options regarding the Nudgee Beach boardwalk viewing platform.
We commenced intermittent investigation works on the boardwalk and around the area in mid-2024. It is anticipated that further information will be available in mid-2025, which will assist in determining what potential options Council has regarding the viewing platform and boardwalk.
These investigations are assessing a number of factors including the existing conditions, environmental, tidal and marine impacts, the boardwalk and viewing platform piles and condition. This important information will help us determine options and next steps.
