About the project
This project is part of our Suburban Corridor Modernisation program which aims to increase safety for active road users across Brisbane’s suburban road corridors and the surrounding catchments to these roads.
We have worked closely with key stakeholders and local schools to investigate concerns within the corridor and identify suitable treatments to improve safety for people walking, riding and driving through the area.
Treatments across Curragundi Road include:
- splitter islands to improve pedestrian crossing points and improve road safety
- relocating a pedestrian refuge and bus stop
- installing line marking
- upgrading kerb buildouts
- minor turfing and landscaping works.
As part of the decision-making process for this project, a number of factors were considered to ensure the project balances the needs of the community and improves overall network efficiency, visibility and safety along this corridor.
