Beams Road upgrade – Upcoming traffic changes

From August 2024, we will be changing the traffic conditions along Beams Road, between Cowie Road and Dorville Road.

This change is required to upgrade the road pavement on the southern side of Beams Road, between Cowie Road and Dorville Road.

When will this work take place?

Traffic changes will start from August 2024 and will remain in place until late 2024.

Night works will be undertaken for key sections of works and updates will be provided on this.

All works are subject to weather and site conditions. If the dates change, we will notify you.

What’s involved?

Works will involve:

  • upgrading infrastructure under the roadway, including underground services
  • kerb demolition and road profiling works
  • installing new kerb and channel
  • asphalting and line marking.

How will this impact me?

Local access will be intermittently impacted for residents front facing Beams Road and on Tullamore Street. We are communicating with these impacted residents directly.

While works are underway, traffic control will be onsite during the day to assist residents on Beams Road with access into and out of their properties.

Signage will be in place to guide motorists through the work area.

Tullamore Street access

During the works, local access for residents on Beams Road and Tullamore Street will be provided through the work zone.

Access will be available by turning left at the roundabout and into the access road on the southern side of Beams Road.

Tullamore Street will change to left-in and left-out only. This will be a permanent change in movements as part of the project.

The map shows Beams Road running horizontal at the top of the map with Tullamore Street running vertically and intersecting with Beams Road. Orange arrows are depicted at the top of the plan on Beams Road showing traffic running in both directions, one lane for east-bound traffic, towards Fitzgibbon, and one lane for west-bound traffic, towards Gympie Road.
